2010 Coaches and Staff

Top coaches and facilities make us one of the top camps in the Midwest.

Lead Coach - 2010 National Volleyball Center (Rochester)

(Coach Skadeland roves to every court)

Jamie Skadeland, head coach of Colorado School of Mines and long-time S.P.I.K.E.™ Performance Camps coach will be the Lead Coach. A rising star in the coaching ranks, she has drawn national attention and was recently voted by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as one of the 'Top 30 Under 30' (top 30 coaches in the United States under the age of 30 (no surprise to us). In 2009, Skadeland led the Orediggers to their second-ever NCAA post-season appearance based on their new single-season program record for overall victories (22) and conference victories, Mines had the unlucky task, in the first round, of playing the two-time and what proved to be the eventual three-peat national championship team. Her team also set a new program record for consecutive matches won. She also had an award winning collegiate playing career at the University of North Dakota where she was a four-year starter at setter. Prior to that, she was the 2001 North Dakota Volleyball Gatorade Player of the Year, All State, and All State Tournament player for Williston High School.

Jamie Skadeland has a Master’s in Sport Psychology from Minnesota State - Mankato

Lead Coach - 2010 MHS (Monticello High School)

(Coach Mastin-McCampbell roves to every court)

All the staff at S.P.I.K.E.™ Performance Camps are pleased that our lead coach in Monticello will be Tiffany Mastin-McCampbell, head coach of South Dakota School of Mines and long-time S.P.I.K.E.™ Performance Camps court head coach. We believe her enthusiasm, coaching style, and years of experience will result in a fun, challenging, and rewarding camp. Tiffany has considerable coaching experience at all levels. Prior to South Dakota School of Mines, Tiffany was the head coach at Missouri Western State University, Oakland City University, and Whiteland Community High School. She played on the first Taylor University team to ever win a Mid-Central Conference Championship and knows as a coach and former player the skills and qualities players need in today's game.

Tiffany Mastin-McCampbell is a graduate of Taylor University.

Lead Coach - 2010 MPA (Mounds Park Academy)

(Coach Pham roves to every court)

Thanh Pham (pronounced TANG FAMM), head coach of the University of St. Thomas, did an outstanding job in 2009 as lead coach and will be back in 2010. Thanh is considered one the top clinicians and camp instructors in the Midwest. He is entering his twelfth season as Tommie head volleyball coach in 2009. Thanh, who has 12 years of college coaching experience in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), was the 2007 NCAA Central Region Coach of the Year. St. Thomas has won four MIAC titles, four NCAA tournament berths, and finished 11th in the national polls the past three years under his leadership. He ranks in the top ten for winning percentage in Division III.

Thanh Pham is a 1997 graduate of Augsburg College and has a master's degree from St. Mary's University. His previous experience teaching math seems to have helped sharpen his eye for detail as a coach.

Camp Director & Roving Coach

Vic Spadaccini is the developer and one of the presenters of the S.P.I.K.E.™ Workshop (Success = Positive Imagery + Kinetic Energy), a high-energy workshop that teaches teams the crucial psychological component of athletic performance and success.  In addition to being the camp director, he works with all S.P.I.K.E.™ Performance Camp coaches to help them seamlessly add psychological (mental toughness and confidence) training into each session, because scientific tests have proven that all athletes, regardless of age learn faster and learn more when correctly applying these techniques. (Vic is also a volleyball coach.)

The previous five years he was head coach of Truman State University in Missouri, a perennial D2 national powerhouse that was ranked in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll every week during his tenure. He has led his team to five consecutive NCAA appearances (final ‘09 national ranking: #2).  Coach Skoch is one of the most knowledgeable coaches you’ll meet. We’re sure you’ll be as impressed by his camp as you will be chatting with him.

Jason Skoch has a Bachelor of Science in statistics from Oklahoma State University and a M. S. in statistics from Penn State.  (That specialty may explain his analytical approach to volleyball!)
