Lead Coach - 2009 NVC (Rochester)

S.P.I.K.E.™ Performance Camps is pleased to have one of the brightest and impressive young stars in the volleyball coaching arena, Jason Skoch (rhymes with 'coach') return as our Lead Coach. Coach Skoch was announced as the Head Volleyball Coach of West Texas A&M University on March 17, 2009. The previous five years he was head coach of Truman State University in Missouri, a perennial D2 national powerhouse that was ranked in the
AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll every week during his tenure.
He has led his team to five consecutive NCAA appearances (final ‘08 national ranking: #4). Coach Skoch is one of the most knowledgeable coaches you’ll meet. We’re sure you’ll be as impressed by his camp as you will be chatting with him.
Jason Skoch has a Bachelor of Science in statistics from Oklahoma State University and a M. S. in statistics from Penn State. (That specialty may explain his analytical approach to volleyball!)
Lead Coach - 2009 MHS (Monticello High School)

Jim Deisler
S.P.I.K.E. Performance Camps welcomes Coach Jim Deisler back, this time as Lead Coach at our Monticello HS camp. Coach Deisler was last at our Monticello camp in 2007 when he was the head coach of Iowa Central Community College. Another fast-rising young coach, in 2008 he was appointed head coach of New Mexico Highlands University. While at Iowa Central Community College, a 2-year institution in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Deisler coached the team to a 70-44 record and produced 7 Academic All-Americans. His 2006 team qualified for the national tournament for the second time in school history and finished #8 in the nation in 2007. Coach Deisler has also coached at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he was an Assistant Coach for one season. UCO finished with a record of 21-9 that season. Prior to that, Coach Deisler was the Head Coach at Mid-Del Christian School for 6 seasons, and in those 6 seasons Coach Deisler’s teams won a remarkable 5 State championships. He has also coached junior teams with USA Volleyball for 9 years.

S.P.I.K.E.™ Performance Camps is pleased to welcome another excellent lead coach, Thanh Pham (pronounced TANG FAMM), head coach of the University of St. Thomas. Thanh is considered one the top clinicians and camp instructors in the Midwest. He is entering his seventh season as Tommie head volleyball coach in 2009. Thanh, who has 11 years of college coaching experience in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), was the 2007 NCAA Central Region Coach of the Year. St. Thomas has won four MIAC titles, four NCAA tournament berths, and finished 11th in the national polls the past three years under his leadership. He ranks in the top ten for winning percentage in Division III.
Thanh Pham is a 1997 graduate of Augsburg College and has a master's degree from St. Mary's University. His previous experience teaching math seems to have helped sharpen his eye for detail as a coach.
Vic Spadaccini is the developer and one of the presenters of the S.P.I.K.E.™ Workshop (Success = Positive Imagery + Kinetic Energy), a high-energy workshop that teaches teams the crucial psychological component of athletic performance and success. In addition to being the camp director, he works with all S.P.I.K.E.™ Performance Camp coaches to help them seamlessly add psychological (mental toughness and confidence) training into each session, because scientific tests have proven that all athletes, regardless of age learn faster and learn more when correctly applying these techniques. (Vic is also a volleyball coach.)

- In just her second season at SCSU, Mickow guided the Huskies to the NCAA Division II tournament for the first time since 1995. The Huskies placed third in the always rugged North Central Conference and also gained a solid 19-11 overall record under Coach Mickow’s direction.
